
Our mission is to support the development and establishment of systemic mechanisms to improve the prevention and treatment of sickle cell disease and its complications, including:
Coordination of service delivery
Bundling prevention & treatment services
Training health professionals
Expansion of education, treatment & continuity of care
WashU Medicine leads the effort to establish a collaborative network in Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Texas. The network members work together with other organizations to improve care delivery for people with sickle cell disease. WashU Medicine serves as the sickle cell disease technical assistance center for the region and collects and maintains sickle cell disease data.
